Bratcoins to unlock skins!

2025-04-01

The next release of “Little Brats!” will see a major overhaul of the funding model: it will now be a pay-to-win game, with the introduction of a dedicated cryptocurrency and NFT skins.

If you’re not paying for the product, then you are the product

The adage has become famous, and for some time now I've been wondering about it: indeed, in Little Brats!, all skins are immediately available, and for free! You know me: I'm not the type to treat you like products. So no more free skins: from now on, you'll have to pay to be able to get dressed!

When you buy the game, you'll have access to just one basic skin, this one:

Skin

Of course, the absence of color and hairstyle, as well as the presence of the word “LOSER”, are not intended as an insult, but rather to motivate you to unlock new, shinier skins!

At interface level, other skins will be locked (even if you played the game before the update: you'll need to unlock these skin elements to get your old costumes back). Each skin element will be unlocked at variable prices according to the skin's popularity: caps and bonnets will obviously be very expensive, while a lambda hairstyle will be more affordable.

The concept has also been extended to color shades, since you'll need to unlock these different sliders before you can hope to choose different colors!

The in-game currency: Bratcoin

To pay for these various skins, you'll need Bratcoins: this is a decentralized cryptocurrency, hosted and managed by no less than three separate machines (my dev PC in my office, the one in the attic of my parents' house, and a Raspberry Pi in my living room).

Skin prices are still under discussion, but will be around 10 Bratcoins per skin element, and 150 Bratcoins per color slider.

Bratcoin

To get your hands on these precious Bratcoins, you'll have several choices:

  • buy them directly from the Bratketplace, at the unbeatable rate of $1 = 1 Bratcoin
  • sell your Sillymon cards on the Bratketplace: the rarest ones will be worth no less than 50 Bratcoins!
  • mine Bratcoin on your GPU: as Little Brats! is a very light game, there's a lot of computing power left on your GPU when you play... it's time to use it!
  • if you're too poor to buy Bratcoins or to afford a GPU worthy of the name, you can always acquire Bratcoins... by playing!

Indeed, if gaming becomes a kind of pay-to-win, it also becomes a win-to-earn, because progress can't be stopped! There's no need to pay a penny, as each completed game earns you 1 microBratcoin (and even 3 microBratcoins if you finish on the podium!). A real bargain!

Coming soon: NFT skins

Skins are good. Unlockable paid skins are better. But you know what's better? Unique skins, in NFT, that-only-you-will-possess (well, unless I decide to duplicate them, but that would be one hell of a little brat's trick on my part).

What better way to start than with the NFT “poop emoji” hat? Doesn't that make you dream?

Emoji

Well, this skin will be auctioned off later this year. Starting price: 4,000 Bratcoins. Place your bids.

Meanwhile, of course, other NFT skins will be added to the mix (“puke emoji” skin, “eyebrow-raising emoji” skin, etc., we're in for such a ride!).

From now on, I'll tell you what: sky is the limit. A Bratavers with Playstation 1 graphics might even happen next Christmas.

On that note, I'll leave you to it: my coke order has just arrived, and the delivery boy doesn't seem to accept Bratcoins. What a loser.
